Mike Massy on Middle Eastern Music (Solo Performance and Lecture)

Don’t miss this great opportunity to hear and meet Lebanon’s most beloved singer/composer/pianist whose ‘Ya Zaman’ album continues to top the Lebanese charts. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Performer, actor, singer, songwriter, composer and pianist; Murex d’Or 2011 winner for “innovation in music”–Massy’s innovative sound, which lies somewhere between pop, jazz, oriental and traditional, is a product of his varied experience. He studied piano at the National High Conservatory of Music in Beirut where he was also trained in oriental and occidental
singing, the muwashahat and Arabic opera. This training is combined with a BA in drama from the Lebanese university/faculty of fine art along with jazz ballet lessons for over 10 years. All these multiple talents makes Massy an eclectic artist who pushes the boundaries of the Lebanese music scene.
